      Lopamide 2MG tablet is an effective anti-diarrhoeal medication used to relieve the symptoms of diarrhoea that start suddenly and lasts for few days. It is prescribed for acute diarrhoea, chronic diarrhoea (that lasts for a longer period of time and is usually associated with other diseases like irritable bowel syndrome), traveller’s diarrhoea (associated with an infected gut, usually afflicting people who travel for a long duration of time). This medicine is also used to reduce the amount of stool produced in people who have undergone ileostomy (surgical procedure). However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      How to Use

      Take Lopamide 2MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      The tablet can be taken with or without food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not use this medicine for durations shorter or longer than suggested by your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention. Depending on the dosage of Lopamide 2MG tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

      Lactation:

      The medicine is likely safe to use for nursing mothers. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass through the breastmilk and does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

      Alcohol:

      Consumption of alcohol with this tablet is not recommended as it may cause extreme drowsiness, confusion, weakness, vomiting and fainting. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the tablet should be reported to your doctor immediately.

      Driving:

Alert your doctor if you are taking Lopamide 2MG tablet with quinidine, ritonavir, gemfibrozil, ketoconazole, itraconazole, desmopressin, ranitidine, clarithromycin.

Very upset stomach or throwing up. Very bad belly pain. Very hard stools (constipation). Very loose stools diarrhea). Swelling of belly. High fever. Black, tarry, or bloody stools. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

      Can I take Loperamide with other medicines:
