What is Urofollitropin for:

This medication is a human follicle-stimulating hormone, prescribed in combination with HCG hormone for infertility in women who have not responded to other therapy. It stimulates the ovaries to produce eggs.

How does Urofollitropin work:

Urofollitropin starts growth of ovarian follicles. It helps make sperm.

How should Urofollitropin be used:

It comes as a solution for injection administered by a healthcare provider into a large muscle or under the skin. IMSC- Female infertility: The recommended dose is 150 IUday for 5 days, increased up to 450 IUday for up to 12 days. Follow this treatment with chorionic gonadotropin.

Common side effects of Urofollitropin :

Irritation where the shot is given. Ovarian cyst. Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Pimples (acne). Headache. Belly cramps. Enlarged breasts. Over stimulation of the ovaries.

What precautions should I take when taking Urofollitropin :

If you have an allergy to urofollitropin or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have any of these health problems: Cancer where hormones make it grow, ovarian cysts, adrenal gland disease, thyroid gland disease, or vaginal bleeding. If you are pregnant or may be pregnant.

When do I need to seek medical help

If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Trouble breathing. Very bad belly pain or soreness. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Very loose stools (diarrhea). A big weight gain. Very bad swelling. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

Can I take Urofollitropin with other medicines:

Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.

Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. - Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
