      Madol Tablet 100mg is used to treat moderate to severe pain in adults. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.

      Mechanism of Action of Tramadol:

      Tramadol acts by withholding the chemical neurotransmitters which enhance pain. Simultaneously, this drug also enhances the serotonin release which contributes to happiness and well-being by calming and relaxing the mind.

      Contraindications and Caution

      Patients with the following conditions are suggested to seek advice from their health care professionals before taking the Madol Tablet 100mg:

      • Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients used in the Madol Tablet 100mg such as Tramadol and Opioids
      • MAO inhibitor use within 14dyas
      • Ultrarapid CYP26 metabolizer
      • Patients with 12-18 years old with respiratory depression risk
      • Post tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy
      • Respiratory depression, severe
      • Asthma, acute or severe
      • GI obstruction, known or suspected
      • Paralytic ileus
      • Acute alcohol or drug intoxication
      • Suicidal ideation or behavior
      • Circulatory shock
      • Coma or impaired consciousness
      • Electrolyte abnormalities, uncorrected
      • Severe hepatic impairment (ER form)
      • Severe renal impairment (ER form)
      • Avoid abrupt withdrawal (prolonged or longterm use)

      How to Use

      How to Use

      Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor.
      Swallow Madol Tablet 100mg immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or chew the Madol Tablet 100mg.
      Avoid missing/forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t consume two doses at the same time which may be dangerous to your health.
      Take Madol Tablet 100mg with or without food.
      Take the medication at the prescribed time and dosage.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking Madol Tablet 100mg more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience one or more of the following signs or symptoms:

      • Miosis
      • Vomiting
      • Cold and clammy skin
      • Respiratory depression
      • Lethargy
      • Flaccid skeletal muscle
      • Coma
      • Seizures
      • Brady cardia
      • Hypotension
      • Cardiac arrest
      • Cardiac collapse

      Warnings and Precautions

      Take Madol Tablet 100mg only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:

      Kidney:

      Caution advised among people with renal problems. If you have any, consult your doctor before the consumption of this madol Tablet 100mg.

      Liver:

      Caution advised among people with hepatic problems. If you have any, consult your doctor before the consumption of this madol Tablet 100mg.

      Pregnancy:

      Safety during pregnancy has not yet established and the risk of teratogenicity is expected (chances are low). Therefore, inform your doctor about if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the treatment.

      Lactation:

      Caution advised during pregnancy. Therefore, inform your doctor if you are a nursing mother during the treatment.

      Driving:

      Since consuming this medicine would induce sleep/cause dizziness or impair your thinking or reactions, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention/physical strength.

      Drug Interactions:

      Caution always advised when used with other medicine(s). Therefore, inform your doctor about your previous and current history of medication(s) (if any).

      • Keep the medicine out of sight and reach of children.
      • Store at room temperature, protect from heat and moisture.

      What is Tramadol for:

      This medication is an opioid analgesic, prescribed for moderate to severe pain in adults. It works by changing the way the body senses pain.

      How does Tramadol work:

      Tramadol lowers the feeling of pain and how one reacts to pain.

      How should Tramadol be used:

      It comes as a tablet, capsule to take by mouth with or without food. It also comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein or large muscle.

      Common side effects of Tramadol :

      Feeling lightheaded, sleepy, having blurred eyesight, or a change in thinking clearly. Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert or have clear eyesight until you see how this drug affects you. Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Headache. Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Hard stools (constipation). Drinking more liquids, working out, or adding fiber to your diet may help. Talk with your doctor about a stool softener or laxative.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. This drug is taken on an as needed basis.

      What precautions should I take when taking Tramadol :

      If you have an allergy to tramadol or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you are addicted to drugs. If you drink beer, wine, or mixed drinks or take any drugs that have alcohol. If you are breast-feeding.

      When do I need to seek medical help

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Trouble breathing. Signs of low mood (depression), thoughts of killing yourself, nervousness, emotional ups and downs, thinking that is not normal, anxiety, or lack of interest in life. Change in thinking clearly and with logic. Seizures. Poor pain control. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Very hard stools (constipation). Feeling very tired or weak. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

      Can I take Tramadol with other medicines:

      Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.

      Are there any food restrictions

      Avoid alcohol. Alcohol, even in small quantities, can worsen the drowsiness caused by Tramadol. It can also affect your reaction time and make it unsafe for you to drive or take part in activities in which you need to be alert.

      How do I store Tramadol :

      Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. - Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
