Uses and Benefits

Meftal Forte Cream 50gm is used for topical application to relieve sprains and strains, acute muscular pain, low back pain, and joint pains. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.

Composition

The active ingredients of Meftal Forte Cream 50gm are Camphor 5%, Menthol 10% and Methyl Salicylate 30%.

Mechanism of Action of Drugs

Camphor works as an antipruritic and as an anti-infective agent.
Next, Menthol works as a counter-irritant and local anesthetic.
And lastly, Methyl Salicylate works by giving temporary analgesic effect.

Contraindications and Caution

Patients with the following conditions are suggested to seek advice from their health care professionals before applying the Meftal Forte cream 50gm:

• Hypersensitivity to any of the drugs used in the cream such as Camphor, Menthol, and Methyl Salicylate.

Side and Adverse Effects

The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of this cream. It is generally well tolerated when used in prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

Rare but more serious adverse effects may include:

How to Use

Before applying the cream, wash your hands as well as the affected area with water and wipe dry and apply as directed by your physician.
Only apply a thin layer of this Cream topically on the affected area, and not rub it harshly.
Wash your hands after applying the cream as well. It may cause a burning sensation if contact with eyes.
Dosage: 2-3 applications during the day or as recommended by your doctor, pharmacist or health care professional.

Warnings and Precautions

Take Meftal Spas injection 2ml only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:

Pregnancy:

May be used during pregnancy, no known risk of fetal harm.

Lactation:

Based on minimal maternal absorption, no known risk of infant harm and adverse effects. However, it is best to consult your doctor before using this cream.
