      Monit GTN 6.4MG 30S tablet is an effective vasodilator used to treat and prevent angina (heart related chest pain or discomfort) caused due to narrowing of blood vessels that carries blood to the heart and when your heart muscle doesn’t get enough oxygen-rich blood, characterized by symptoms such as pressure, tightness or n in your chest. It works by relaxing the blood vessels and improves blood flow and oxygen in the body, thereby reducing the risk of getting chest pain. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      How to Use

      Take Monit GTN 6.4MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      This medicine can be taken with or without food, as advised by your doctor. The tablet is usually taken not more than one time a day. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention.       Kidney:

      Caution is advised among patients with severe kidney problems. Close monitoring of kidney function and adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. However, if you have any renal problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine.

      Liver:

      Caution is advised among people with severe liver problems. Dose adjustments of the tablet may be needed. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine.

      Pregnancy:

      It is not considered safe to use in pregnant women unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in human beings, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

      Lactation:

      The medicine is likely safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass through the breastmilk and does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

      Alcohol:

      Consumption of alcohol with this medicine is not recommended as it increases side effects such as confusion, increased heartbeat, flushing, nausea, thirst, low blood pressure. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the capsule, report to your doctor immediately.

      Driving:

      Glyceryl Trinitrate (also known as GTN) helps relieve sudden attacks of angina (chest pain).

      How does Glyceryl Trinitrate work:

      GTN cannot cure your chest pain; it can only temporarily relieve your discomfort. If your doctor has given you other heart medicines, make sure you take them as directed.

      How should Glyceryl Trinitrate be used:

      Do not swallow, chew or crush the tablet; it must be placed under your tongue to be effective. GTN is absorbed into your body through the lining of your mouth.

      Common side effects of Glyceryl Trinitrate :

      If you are taking this medicine for the first few times, you may get a headache, your face may feel flushed and your heart rate may go up. This indicates that the medicine is working and is not a cause for worry. The symptoms should pass. You may also feel dizzy and a little faint. Sit down or find some form of support such as a wall. Seek help from family or bystanders if you do not feel well. If this medicine makes you dizzy or drowsy, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert.
