Moxate CV 625mg Tablet is a penicillin type of antibiotic which is used for treating wide variety of bacterial infections of the lungs and airways, ear, nose, sinus, tonsils, tooth, throat, skin, gastrointestinal tract endocarditis (where the inner walls of heart get swollen), bladder (Cystitis) and kidneys (Pyelonephritis). Moxate CV tab is also effective in treating pneumonia and peptic ulcers by eliminating a bacterium known as Helicobacter pylori. This tablet is not advised for treating a common cold, flu or other viral infections since it is not effective in treating these infections.
Moxate CV 625mg is also given as a first line antibiotic to prevent a wide range of infections caused by bacteria which includes infections of the blood, bones, joints, brain and other dental infections. It works best for several infections that are suspected to be caused by bacteria but the type of bacteria is not known. The medicine may also be given alone or combination with some other medicines. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.
Moxate CV 625mg is a combination of two medicines: Amoxycillin (500 mg) and Clavulanic Acid (125mg)
Moxate CV 625mg tablet works by inhibiting the formation of bacterial protective covering or cell wall which is fundamental for the survival of the bacteria. By doing so, the medicine kills the infection causing bacteria and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment. Clavulanic acid (a beta-lactamase inhibitor) re-establishes the activity of amoxycillin against bacteria resistant to amoxicillin.

Amoxicillin is used to stop or treat certain bacterial infections, such as infections of the ears, nose, throat, urinary tract and skin.

Tablet for suspension: Mix the tablet in 2 teaspoons (10 mL) of water. Do not chew or swallow the tablet whole. There is a liquid (suspension) if you cannot swallow pills. Shake well before use. Those who have feeding tubes may also use the liquid. Flush the feeding tube before and after this drug is given. You may crush the tablet, melt it in water, and mix it with chocolate milk, milk, or pudding.
Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Loose stools (diarrhea). Yogurt or probiotics may help. You may get these products at health food stores or in some pharmacies. For women, vaginal yeast infection. Report itching or discharge.
Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. - If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. - Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. - Do not change the dose or stop this drug. - Talk with the doctor.

If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Very loose stools (diarrhea), even after drug is stopped. Any bruising or bleeding. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
