      Moxikind CV Tablet 375mg is used to treat infections of the ear, nose, throat, genitourinary tract, and skin. This tablet is also used for the treatment of acute uncomplicated gonorrhea caused by the bacteria neisseria gonorrhea. Moxikind CV Tablet 375mg is also used to treat sinusitis, acute bacterial infection, urinary tract infection, and otitis media acute. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.

      The active ingredients of Moxikind CV Tablet 375mgare Amoxicillin 250mg and Clavulanic Acid 125mg.

      Amoxicillin acts by showing bactericidal activity therefore, inhibits cell wall mucopeptidase synthesis and kills the bacteria.
      Clavulanic Acid inhibits the beta-lactamases which are the enzymes produced by bacteria that provide multi-resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics.

      Patients with the following conditions are suggested to seek advice from their health care professionals before taking the Moxikind CV Tablet 375mg:

      • Hypersensitivity to any of the drugs used in the Moxikind CV Tablet 375mgsuch as Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid
      • Anaphylactic reaction to beta-lactams
      • Hemodialysis
      • Hepatic impairment associated with Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid therapy
      • Cholestatic jaundice associated with Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid therapy
      Side Effects

      Side and Adverse Effects

      The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of this tablet. It is generally well tolerated when taken in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

      • Diarrhea
      • Nausea
      • Rash
      • Glossitis
      • Stomatitis
      • Black hairy tongue

      Rare but more serious adverse effects may include:

      • Anaphylaxis
      • Serum sickness
      • Exfoliative dermatitis
      • Stevens-johnson syndrome
      • Toxic epidermal necrolysis
      • Candidiasis
      How to Use

      How to Use

      Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole, immediately after opening the tablet from the strip.Do not break or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      Take the Moxikind CV Tablet 375mg with food or without food.
      For adults, the usual dosage is 1 tablet 2-3 times a day or as suggested by your physician or health care professional.
      For children talk to your doctor before giving the tablet.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience one or more of the following signs or symptoms:

      • Nausea
      • Vomiting
      • Stomach pain
      • Diarrhea
      • Skin rash
      • Drowsiness

      Warnings and Precautions

      Take the tablet only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:

      Pregnancy:

      Moxikind CV Tablet 375mg may be used during pregnancy, no known risk of fetal harm based on animal data. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the treatment.

      Lactation:

      This medication can pass through breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not take without informing your doctor or a pharmacist.

      Alcohol:

      Interaction of alcohol with this medicine is unknown, consult your doctor before consumption.

      Driving:

      Since consuming this medicine would induce severe allergic reactions and convulsions, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention/physical strength.

      Drug Interactions:

      Avoid taking warfarin along with Moxikind CV Tablet 375mg as this may increase the risk of bleeding when both drugs combined together.
      The therapeutic efficacy of anthrax vaccine will get reduced when used along with Moxikind CV Tablet 375mg.

      Precautions
      • Keep Moxikind CV Tablet 375mg out of sight and reach of children.
      • Keep it in a cool and dry place, away from heat and moisture.
      • Do not use the medicine beyond its expiry date.
      • Do not use the medicine if the tablet strip is torn or the tablet is broken.

      What is Clavulanic acid for:

      It is a beta-lactamase inhibitor combined with certain penicillin antibiotics to overcome antibiotic resistance

      How does Clavulanic acid work:

      Addition of clavulanic acid re-establishes the activity of amoxicillin against bacterias resistant to amoxicillin.

      How should Clavulanic acid be used:

      Take this drug as directed by the doctor

      Common side effects of Clavulanic acid :

      GI tolerance is poor specially in children. Other side effects are Candida stomatitisvaginitis and rashes. Some cases of hepatic injury have been reported with the combination.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. - If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. - Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

      What precautions should I take when taking Clavulanic acid :

      If you have an allergy to calcium polystyrene sulfonate or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.

      When do I need to seek medical help

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Signs of low potassium. Very bad belly pain. Very hard stools (constipation). Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

      Can I take Clavulanic acid with other medicines:

      Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.

      Are there any food restrictions

      How do I store Clavulanic acid :

      Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. - Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.

      Category B: Either animal-reproduction studies have not demonstrated a foetal risk but there are no controlled studies in pregnant women or animal-reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect (other than a decrease in fertility) that was not confirmed in controlled studies in women in the 1st trimester (and there is no evidence of a risk in later trimesters).
