Mucaine Gel Mint Syrup 350ml is an antacid used to treat upset stomach, heartburn, acid indigestion, and pain associated with peptic ulcer, esophagitis, hiatus hernia, and anorexia. It treats hyperphosphatemia in patients with chronic and renal failure. Further, it is also used as an osmotic laxative. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. The active ingredients of Mucaine Gel Mint Syrup 350ml are Aluminium Hydroxide 0.291mg, Magnesium Hydroxide 98mg, and Oxetacaine 10mg/5ml.
Aluminum Hydroxide helps to neutralize the excess HCL (hydrochloric acid) produced in the stomach and also inhibits pepsin activity. Therefore, reduces heartburn and upset stomach.
Magnesium Hydroxide helps in neutralizing gastric acidity. It also acts as a laxative (promotes bowel movement and loosens stool).
Oxetacaine arrests the gastric acid secretion by suppressing gastrin secretion.
