How to Use

How to Use

Nebicard 2.5mg Tab can be taken with food or on an empty stomach. The dose and duration should be followed as prescribed by your doctor. It is best to take this medicine at a fixed time. It is important that this medicine should not be taken more than the recommended dose.
Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening the tablet from the strip. Do not try to break/crush/chew the tablet.
Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take Nebicard 2.5mg Tab as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take it at the next scheduled time. Do not take two doses of this medicine at the same time as it can be dangerous to your health.
Bear in mind that it takes a few weeks for the medicine to work so you need to take it regularly even if you feel it is not doing you any good. You must keep taking the medicine until your doctor advises you to stop.
This medicine should be taken only by the person for whom it has been recommended by a qualified physician.

What is Nebivolol for:

This medication is a beta-blocker, prescribed for hypertension and also for left ventricular failure either alone or combined with other medications. It decreases the amount of blood pumped out from heart.

How does Nebivolol work:

This helps to decrease blood pressure, helps the heart pump more efficiently, and reduces the workload on the heart.

How should Nebivolol be used:

It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food once a day. Adult: Hypertension- The recommended starting dose is 5 mg once daily, alone or in combination with other agents. It may be increased up to 40 mg once daily, if needed. Heart failure: The recommended starting dose is 1.25 mg once daily. May double dose 1-2 weekly up to a max of 10 mg once daily.

Common side effects of Nebivolol :

Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Headache. Slow heartbeat. Change in sex ability. This most often goes back to normal.

What do I do if I miss a dose

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

If you have an allergy to nebivolol or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. If you have any of these health problems: Very bad liver disease, slow heartbeat without a working pacemaker, or very weak heart. If you are more than 12 weeks pregnant.

These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Signs of low mood (depression), thoughts of killing yourself, nervousness, emotional ups and downs, thinking that is not normal, anxiety, or lack of interest in life. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Trouble breathing. A big weight gain. Feeling very tired or weak. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
