Bacteria can enter the skin through scratches or cuts to cause infections. This medicine stops the growth of infection-causing bacteria and promotes faster healing. It is also effective against skin infections such as boils, impetigo and infected hair follicles. However, the uses of this ointment mentioned here are not exhaustive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

The active ingredients of Neosporin antibiotic skin and eye ointment are Bacitracin zinc (400 U), Neomycin (3400 U) and Polymyxin B (5000 U)
