Normaxin tablet is used as an antispasmodic medicine to relieve severe conditions such as menstrual bleeding, intestinal, renal, or biliary colic associated with vomiting and also relieves from menstrual pain, stomach and abdominal pain. It is also used to treat muscle spasms and irritable bowel syndrome. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredients of Normaxin tablet are Chlordiazepoxide 5mg, Clidinium Bromide 2.5mg, and Dicyclomine 10mg.
Chlordiazepoxide helps to reduce anxiety associated with insomnia.
Clidinium Bromide possesses antispasmodic properties; thus aids in slowing the natural movements of the gut; and relaxing the muscles in the stomach and intestine.
Dicyclomine (or Dicycloverine) is an anticholinergic drug that reduces muscle spasms in gastrointestinal tract through a process of nonselective smooth muscle relaxation. An anticholinergic agent is basically a substance which blocks the neurotransmitter acetycholine in both central and peripheral nervous systems. It inhibits the parasympathetic nerve impulses by selectively blocking the binding of the neurotransmitter acetycholine to its receptor in nerve cells.

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor. Swallow Normaxin tablet who immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break/cut/chew the tablet.
Avoid missing a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Do not consume two doses at the same time which may be dangerous to your health.
Take the medicine at the prescribed time and dosage.

Avoid taking more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience one or more of the following signs or symptoms:

Caution advised among people with hepatic problems. If you have any, consult your doctor before using the Normaxin tablet.
Safety during pregnancy is unknown. Therefore, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the treatment.
Dicyclomine or Dicycloverine: This drug may pass through breastmilk and may cause breathing problems in breastfed infants younger than 6months. Therefore, inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding an infant during the treatment.
Chlordiazepoxide/Clidinium Bromide: Safety during lactation is unknown. Therefore, inform your doctor if you are a nursing mother.
Consumption of alcohol may increase your risk of certain side effects.
Since consuming this medicine would induce sleep/cause dizziness, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention/physical strength.

Use a missed dose as soon as you think about it. - If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Many times this drug is used on an as needed basis
If you have an allergy to chlordiazepoxide or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you are pregnant or may be pregnant. If you are breast-feeding.
If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Big change in balance. Change in thinking clearly and with logic. Feeling very tired or weak. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
