NU-BPH capsule is an ayurvedic formulation that is used in men to relieve the symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) such as painful urination, difficulty in passing urine and urinary urgency or frequency. This medicine reduces the size and volume of the prostate gland. It improves the overall quality of life of a BPH (benign prostatic hypertrophy) patient. It also reduces male pattern baldness. However, the uses of the medicine mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon doctor’s discretion.

NU-BPH capsule works by relaxing the muscles of the prostate gland and bladder and relieves the symptoms of an enlarged prostate. This helps to fully drain the bladder and reduces the need to pass urine frequently and urgently in people with benign prostate hyperplasia. It also helps in shrinking the prostate gland by decreasing the level of testosterone which helps the prostate gland grow.

How to Use

How to Use

Take NU-BPH capsule as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the capsule whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the capsule.
Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
The capsule can be taken with or without food or as advised by your doctor. Most recommended dose is two capsules a day. Take the capsule at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested even though the symptoms disappear after the medicine has begun.

Overdosage

Avoid taking NU-BPH capsule more than the prescribed dosage. There were no reports of overdose during the clinical development program for this medicine. In case of an accidental overdose of the medicine, promptly ask for medical advice. Depending on the dosage of the capsule, symptoms may vary in individuals, you may experience the following signs or symptoms:

Alcohol:

Driving:

This medicine may decrease alertness, cause impaired judgement, affect your vision and make you feel dizzy, difficulty in concentration, fatigue. Do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

Food:

There are no known food interactions with this capsule.

Drug Interactions:

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines which includes over-the-counter drugs, herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. Alert your doctor if you are taking NU-BPH capsule along with nefazodone, amiodarone, tadalafil, itraconazole, cimetidine, ketoconazole, baclofen, amitriptyline, baclofen, conivaptan, erythromycin, diltiazem, alprazolam.

Very loose stools (diarrhea). Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

Can I take Elemental Zinc with other medicines:

Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
