      Nurokind OD Injection 1ml is used in the treatment of Vitamin B12 deficiency as a dietary supplement especially to treat pernicious anemia and also helps to regulate vital body functions such as blood formation, cell multiplication, and protein synthesis. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon doctor’s discretion.

      The active ingredient of Nurokind OD Injcetion 1ml is Mecobalamin (also known as Methylcobalamin) 1500mcg/ml.

      Patients with the following conditions are suggested to seek advice from their health care professionals before using Nurokind OD Injcetion 1ml:

      • HHypersensitivity to any of the ingredients used in the Nurokind OD injection such as Mecobalamin, Cobal, and Cobalamine derivatives
        or any other components used in the formulation.
      Side Effects

      Side and Adverse Effects

      The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of this injection. It is generally well tolerated when taken in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

      • Anorexia
      • Nausea
      • Vomiting
      • Diarrhea
      • Headache
      • Hot sensation
      • Diaphoresis and pain
      • Induration at IM injection site
      How to Use

      How to Use

      This medication is usually administered through parenteral route in a clinic or a hospital setting under the supervision of a nurse or a physician.

      If self-administered, take the injection at prescribed dose and time.
      Sterilize the area before taking the shot with an antiseptic swab.
      Spread the skin at the site where the injection needs to be given, with your hand. Gently insert the needle into the desires location, inhale by slowly pulling back the plunger to determine the needle is in desired location, inject the solution slowly, remove the needle quickly and lastly, gently press the injection site with an alcohol swab.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, if you observe any new symptoms promptly seek medical advice or report it to the nearby poison control center.

      Take Nurokind OD Injcetion 1ml only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:

      Pregnancy:

      Do not take the injection without doctors advise – because it is not known whether this drug may harm a fetus or not.

      Lactation:

      No data available. However, since this drug may pass into breast milk, it is suggested that you consider talking to your doctor before taking the Nurokind OD injection.

      Drug Interactions:

      Use of Neomycin, Aminosalicylic acid, H2-antagonists, Omeprazole and Colchicine along with Nurokind OD Injcetion 1ml may reduce the absorption rate of Mecobalamin through GI tract.
      Serum concentration levels may get decreased by the use of oral contraceptives.
      Consider the above conditions while performing a blood test or checking assays for blood concentration.

      Precautions
      • Keep the medicine out of sight and reach of children.
      • Store at room temperature, do not expose to direct sunlight.
      • Do not use the medicine beyond its expiry.
      • Do not use the Nurokind OD injection if any particles are floating in the liquid.

      Category C: Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.

      What is methylcobalamin for:

      It is used to prevent and treat low vitamin B12. Lack of vitamin B12 may cause anemia and damage to the nerves. It is used to treat diabetic neuropathy and peripheral neuropathy.

      How does methylcobalamin work:

      It is an essential nutrient that helps the body make healthy red blood and nerve cells.

      How should methylcobalamin be used:

      Take with or without food. Take with food if it causes an upset stomach.

      Common side effects of methylcobalamin :

      Headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, skin rash, hot flushes

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

      What precautions should I take when taking methylcobalamin :

      Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs.

      When do I need to seek medical help

      Seek help if you have signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Swelling, warmth, or pain in the leg or arm. Talk to your doctor if you have very loose stools (diarrhea), are feeling very tired or weak, have a rash.

      Can I take methylcobalamin with other medicines:

      Use with neomycin, aminosalicylic acid, cimetidine and cochicine will decrease absorption. Inform doctor about all other drugs you are taking including herbals.

      Are there any food restrictions

      Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, continue with your normal diet.

      How do I store methylcobalamin :

      Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.

      Category A : Adequate and well-controlled human studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in the first trimester of pregnancy (and there is no evidence of risk in later trimesters).
