      Mechanism of Action of Drugs

Sertaconazole is an anti-fungal drug that changes the permeability of the cell wall of the fungal cells and prevents their growth. It binds to the phospholipids of the membrane and inhibits the fungal CYP450 activity, thereby decreasing ergosterol biosynthesis that are essential for the development of the cell membrane. This results in the death of cells due to the loss of intracellular sections.
