Combiflam Syrup 60ml is generally prescribed to treat fever, mild to moderate pains such as headache, body pains, toothache. This syrup is also used to treat common cold or flu. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon doctor’s discretion.

The active ingredients of Combiflam Syrup 60ml are Ibuprofen 100mg and Paracetamol (also known as Acetaminophen) 162.5mg/5ml.

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug which acts by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins which are responsible for the inflammation, pain, and fever.
Paracetamol (or Acetaminophen) primarily acts as an analgesic and antipyretic agent. Further, it also has anti-inflammatory properties to a certain extent. The Paracetamol produces an analgesic effect by increasing pain threshold and antipyresis by acting on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center.

Patients with the following conditions are suggested to seek advice from their health care professionals before taking the Combiflam syrup 60ml:

  • Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients used in the Combiflam syrup 60ml such as Ibuprofen and Paracetamol
  • Hypersensitivity to any other NSAIDs

The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of this Combiflam syrup 60ml. It is generally well tolerated when taken in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

  • Nausea

  • Gastric problems
  • Tinnitus
  • Skin rash
  • Constipation

Rare but more serious adverse effects may include:

  • Anemia
  • Cardiac arrest

How to Use

 

How to Use

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor.
Combiflam Syrup 60ml is meant for oral administration. Shake the bottle well before consuming. Dosage can be administered with the cap that comes along with the syrup container.
Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t consume two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
Take the Combiflam Syrup 60ml with food.
Do not exceed more than 4 doses in a day and not more than for 3 days except under the advice of a medical practitioner.

Overdosage

Avoid taking more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary but you may experience any one or more of the following signs or symptoms:

  • Severe chest pain
  • Severe headache
  • Difficulty in breathing
  • Extreme agitation
  • Increased or decreased blood temperature
  • Abnormal breathing
  • Fast or slow pulse
  • Skin rash or discoloration

Take the Combiflam syrup 60ml only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:

Kidney:

Caution advised among people with renal problems. If you have any, it is highly recommended that you consult your doctor before the consumption of Combiflam Syrup 60ml.

Liver:

Caution advised among people with hepatic problems. If you have any, it is highly recommended that you consult your doctor before the consumption of this medicine.

Pregnancy:

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant because the risk of fetal harm expected based on human data.

Lactation:

Do not take this medicine if you are a nursing mother because it is not known whether this medicine may harm a breastfed infant or not.

Alcohol:

Do not take this medicine along with alcohol as this may lead to some serious side effects.

 

Food:

Intake of food decreases the absorption rate of the drug in the body.

Drug Interactions:

 Increased risk of gastrointestinal ulceration, Perforation or hemorrhage with other NSAIDs.

Precautions
  • Keep this medication out of reach and sight of children.
  • Keep it in a cool and dry place, away from sunlight and moisture.
  • Do not use the medicine beyond its expiry.
  • Do not accept the medicine if the cap seal is broken before its use.
