It neutralizes excess acid in the stomach and helps in easy passage of gas. The gel makes the stool soft and slippery making it easier to pass, thus resulting in easy bowel evacuation. It is prescribed in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease, dyspepsia, erosive esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome. However, the uses mentioned are not exhaustive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

Polycrol xpress relief 200ML gel is a combination medicine that works by inhibiting the secretion of gastric juice; retaining the fluid in the colon; neutralizing the acids released in the stomach. Magnesium hydroxide makes the stool soft and slippery making it easier to pass, thus resulting in bowel evacuation and reduces stomach acid by reacting with hydrochloric acid. Aluminium hydroxide neutralizes hydrochloric acid in the stomach resulting in increased gastric pH and inhibition of pepsin activity. Dimethicone is an anti-foaming agent used to reduce bloating, discomfort and pain caused by excess gas in the stomach. Sorbitol works by bringing water into the colon through osmosis which makes the stools softer and easier to pass.
