How to Use

How to Use

Predmet 4mg Tab can be taken with food or on an empty stomach. The dose and duration should be followed as prescribed by your doctor. It is best to take this medicine at a fixed time. It is important that this medicine should not be taken more than the recommended dose.
Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening the tablet from the strip. Do not try to break/crush/chew the tablet.
Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take it at the next scheduled time. Do not take two doses of this medicine at the same time as it can be dangerous to your health.
Predmet 4mg Tab should be taken only by the person for whom it has been recommended by a qualified physician.

Overdosage

Signs and symptoms MAY BE NOTED in case of an overdosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions in your body after taking Predmet 4mg Tab, please contact your doctor immediately. Drug interacts with aminoglutethimide, oral anticoagulants, amphotericin B injection and potassium-depleting agents, antibiotics, specifically macrolide, anticholinesterases, antidiabetics, antitubercular drugs, holestyramine, digitalis glycosides, cyclosporine, estrogens, including oral contraceptives, hepatic enzyme inducers, ketoconazole, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents (NSAIDs), diminished response to vaccines. Do not start Predmet 4mg Tab on your own. Please consult your doctor.

What is Methylprednisolone for:

This medication is a corticosteroid prescribed for severe allergies, arthritis, asthma, certain blood disorders and skin conditions.

How does Methylprednisolone work:

It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.

How should Methylprednisolone be used:

It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with food. It also comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein. The recommended dose range is 4 to 32mgday. IV- 1gm every 6 – 8 weeks.

Common side effects of Methylprednisolone :

High blood sugar. This most often goes back to normal when drug is stopped. Chance of getting an infection. Wash hands often. Stay away from people with infections, colds, or flu. Belly pain. Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Weight gain. Mood changes. Change in body fat. Weak bones with long-term use. Muscle weakness. Skin changes (pimples, stretch marks, slow healing, hair growth). Cataracts or glaucoma with long-term use. For women, vaginal yeast infection. Report itching or discharge.

What do I do if I miss a dose

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

What precautions should I take when taking Methylprednisolone :

If you have an allergy to methylprednisolone or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have a bad infection.

When do I need to seek medical help

If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Signs of infection. These include a fever of 100.5°F (38°C) or higher, chills, very bad sore throat, ear or sinus pain, cough, more sputum or change in color of sputum, pain with passing urine, mouth sores, wound that will not heal, or anal itching or pain. Feeling very tired, weak, or touchy; trembling; having a fast heartbeat, confusion, sweating, or dizziness if you missed a dose or recently stopped this drug. Trouble breathing. A big weight gain. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Sudden change in eyesight. If you have been exposed to chickenpox and have not had chickenpox or had a chickenpox vaccine. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
