      Prothiaden 25MG tablet is a tricyclic anti-depressant used for the treatment of major depressive disorder, panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, generalized anxiety disorder in adults, social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. It also treats sleep disorders. The tablet helps many people to recover from depression by improving their mood and relieving tension and anxiety. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive. There may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Take Prothiaden 25MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Do not use this medicine for durations shorter or longer than suggested by your doctor as it has a high potential of becoming habit-forming. Avoid missing or forgetting the dose, if you do, take the tablet as soon as remember. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested. Do not stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor as it may cause withdrawal symptoms.
      Initial use of this medicine may worsen the depression symptoms and may take up to 20-30 days for any improvement to show.
      Prothiaden 25MG tablet can be taken with or without food. If significant stomach upset occurs, it could be taken with food. Take the tablet at the same time as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention. Depending on the dosage of Prothiaden 25MG tab, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

      Kidney:

      Caution is advised among patients with kidney problems. Since there is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking this medicine for renal patients, consult your doctor if you an impairment of normal kidney function and stay on the safe side.

      Liver:

      Extreme caution is advised among patients with liver problems. Dose adjustments of the Prothiaden 25MG tablet may be needed. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine. However, this medicine is not recommended in patients with severe liver dysfunction.

      Pregnancy:

      Prothiaden 25MG tablet is not considered safe to use in pregnant women unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in human beings, animal studies have shown effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

      Lactation:

      The medicine is likely unsafe to use for nursing mothers. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass into the breastmilk and harm the infant. Consult your doctor immediately if the baby shows signs of increased sleepiness, breathing problems or difficulty in breast feeding.

      Alcohol:

      Consumption of alcohol with Prothiaden 25MG tablet is not recommended as it increases side effects such as difficulty in breathing, dizziness, light headedness. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the tablet should be reported to your doctor immediately.

      Driving:

      Food:

      Grape fruit juice or grape fruit containing foods have shown to scale back the effect of Prothiaden tablet.

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

      If you have an allergy to benzalkonium chloride, dorzolamide, or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs.
