Pyrigesic 1000Mg tablet is used as first line therapy for the treatment of fever, pain and inflammation according to the international guidelines and recommendations. It is used in moderate to severe pain relief, treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and in conditions such as headaches, body aches, tooth aches, menstrual pain and common cold. The tablet effectively relieves muscle stiffness, thereby improving muscle movement. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

How to Use

How to Use

Take Pyrigesic 1000Mg tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
The tablet can be taken with or without food. If significant stomach upset occurs, you could take it with food. The tablet is usually taken not more than twice a day. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested.

Overdosage

Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention. Depending on the dosage of Pyrigesic 1000Mg tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

Kidney:

Liver:

Extreme caution is advised among people with liver problems. Dose adjustments of the medicine may be needed. If you have any hepatic problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this medicine. Any symptoms such as nausea, fever, dark urine etc should be reported to your doctor immediately. However, use of this tablet is not suggested in patients with severe liver diseases.

Pregnancy:

Pyrigesic 1000Mg tablet is not considered safe to use in pregnant women unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown no or low adverse effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consumption of this medicine.

Lactation:

This medicine is not considered safe to use in nursing mothers unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Since limited information is available about the safety of taking this tablet, consult your doctor if you are nursing mother and stay on the safe side.

Alcohol:

Consumption of alcohol with Pyrigesic 1000Mg tablet is not recommended as it increases side effects such as risk of liver injuries, gastrointestinal bleeding, dizziness, light headedness. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, report to your doctor immediately. If you consume alcohol on regular basis, relevant dose adjustments of the medicine may be necessary depending on your clinical condition.

Driving:

The tablet does not cause drowsiness or dizziness. If you notice any abnormal reactions after taking the medicine, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

Food:

Avoid grape fruit juice and alcohol as they may alter serum levels.

Drug Interactions:

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines which includes over-the-counter drugs, herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. How should Paracetamol be used:

Take this as directed by your doctor. Do not take more than instructed by your doctor. Never take more than 1000 mg at any one time and no more than 4 times in one day. The dose for a child is different from the adult dose. Be sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist before giving this medicine to a child. It may be taken with or without food. If you need pain relief fast, take it on an empty stomach as food may slow down the absorption. You may stop taking it when you have no more pain or fever. Take it only when you need to.
