Quadrajel 30GM is a combination medicine used to treat mouth ulcers. These ulcers or sores are one or more small, painful lesions that develop on the inner lips, tongue, roof of your mouth or at the base of your gums and sometimes on the throat. This condition results in difficulty in eating, talking, and drinking hot liquids. It relieves pain, redness, swelling and discomfort associated with mouth ulcers or sores and promotes faster healing. It is also used to relieve swelling and pressure pain caused due to the use of dental braces or dentures. However, the uses of this gel mentioned here are not exhaustive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

The active ingredients of Quadrajel 30GM are Chlorhexidine gluconate (1% W/W), Lignocaine (2% W/W) and Metronidazole (1% W/W)

Quadrajel gel is a combination medicine used to treat mouth ulcers. Chlorhexidine gluconate is an antiseptic that effectively cleans out the affected area of skin to prevent infection. Metronidazole is an antibiotic that involves in inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis by binding to 30S ribosomes, eventually killing the bacteria by damaging DNA. Lignocaine is a local anaesthetic that decreases pain sensation by blocking pain signals from the nerves to the brain.

Apply a thin layer of this gel to the affected area with a clean fingertip 3-4 times daily or as advised by your doctor. Before and after each application wash your hands. Avoid getting this gel in contact with open wounds, eyes, nose and mucous membranes.

Overdosage

Avoid using Quadrajel more than required. An overdose is extremely unlikely with this gel since it is only for external use. It is not likely to cause severe symptoms unless it is applied for a prolonged period of time in large volumes. Internal consumption of medicine leads to harmful side effects. As 0.2% solution: Rinse with 10 ml for 1 min 2-3 timesday. It comes as liquid to rinse the affected area as directed by your physician.
