      Qutipin 25MG tablet is an antipsychotic medicine that is used in the treatment of schizophrenia which is a severe and chronic mental disorder characterised by abnormal social behaviour and impaired ability to think clearly. It is also used in the treatment of depression and bipolar disorder also known as manic depressive illness characterised by unusual mood changes. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Qutipin tablet is a dibenzothiazepine atypical antipsychotic medicine that works by binding to receptors and inhibits the release of certain chemical substances (serotonin, histamine, adrenergic and dopamine) in the brain that affect thoughts and cause psychotic symptoms.

      How to Use

      Take Qutipin 25MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Do not use this medicine for durations shorter or longer than suggested by your doctor. Avoid missing or forgetting the dose, if you do, take the tablet as soon as remember, however if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the previous dose and take it according to your normal scheduled time. Do not stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor as it may cause withdrawal symptoms.
      Qutipin 25MG tablet should be taken on an empty stomach. If significant stomach upset occurs, it could be taken with food or with a light meal. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain consistent level of medicine in the body.

      Avoid taking medicine more than the prescribed dosage. If you notice any unusual or abnormal reactions after taking the tablet, promptly seek medical attention.       Kidney:

      Caution is advised among patients with renal problems as the medicine may alter blood glucose levels. Close monitoring of kidney function and adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. If you have any renal problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this tablet.

      Liver:

      Extreme caution is advised among patients with hepatic problems. Adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. If you have any liver problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the consumption of this tablet.

      Pregnancy:

      Qutipin 25MG tablet is not considered safe to use in pregnant women unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in human beings, animal studies have shown effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

      Lactation:

      The medicine is likely unsafe to use for nursing mothers. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass into the breastmilk and harm the infant. Consult your doctor immediately if the baby shows signs of increased sleepiness, breathing problems or difficulty in breast feeding.

      Alcohol:

      Consumption of alcohol with Qutipin 25MG tablet is not recommended as it increases side effects such as difficulty in concentrating, dizziness, light headedness. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the tablet should be reported to your doctor immediately.

      Driving:

      Qutipin 25MG tablet may decrease alertness, cause impaired judgement, affect your vision and make you feel dizzy, light headedness, so do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

      Food:

      Grape fruit juice has been shown to scale back the effects of Qutipin 25Mg.

      What is Quetiapine for:

      This medication is an atypical antipsychotic, prescribed for treating schizophrenia i.e. a disorder with includes symptoms like hearing, seeing or sensing things that are not real, mistaken beliefs and thoughts, and problems dealing with other people. It is also used to control the excited moods and depressed moods of bipolar disorder. It works by changing the activity of certain natural substances in the brain.

      How does Quetiapine work:

      Quetiapine helps clear your thinking. It works on helping social interactions, mood, expression of mood, as well as, delusions, paranoia, and look.

      How should Quetiapine be used:

      It comes as tablet to take by mouth 1 to 3 timesday, and extended-release tablet 1timeday, with or without food. Starting dose is 25 to 50 mg twice a day, may be increased to a maximum of 750 to 800 mg per day.

      Common side effects of Quetiapine :

      Feeling lightheaded, sleepy, having blurred eyesight, or a change in thinking clearly. Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert or have clear eyesight until you see how this drug affects you. Feeling dizzy. Good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. See a dentist often. Weight gain. High blood sugar. This most often goes back to normal when drug is stopped.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

      If you have an allergy to quetiapine or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had.
