Rasalect 0.5MG tablet belongs to monoamine oxidase type B inhibitors, is used to treat Parkinson’s disease. It can be used alone or in combination with other medicines to treat Parkinson’s disease (a slowly progressing disorder of the nervous system characterized by symptoms such as tremors, muscle stiffness, difficulty with movements, stooped posture, fixed face without expression, excessive shakiness), caused due to loss of the cells in brain that produce dopamine. The recommended dose of the tablet should not be exceeded due to increased risk of hypertension. However, the uses mentioned here are not comprehensive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

How to Use

Take Rasalect 0.5MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
The tablet can be taken with or without food. If significant stomach upset occurs, it could be taken with food. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested. even though the symptoms disappear after the medicine has begun.

Overdosage

Liver:

Alert your doctor if you are taking Rasalect 0.5MG tablet with phenytoin, carbamazepine, quinidine, anaesthetics, linezolid, tapentadol, antidepressants, 5-Hydrocytryptophan.

Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Joint pain.

What do I do if I miss a dose

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

What precautions should I take when taking Rasagiline :

If you have an allergy to rasagiline or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have taken isocarboxazid, phenelzine, or tranylcypromine in the last 14 days. Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (eg, isocarboxazid, phenelzine, and tranylcypromine) must be stopped 14 days before this drug is started. When do I need to seek medical help

If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. A fast heartbeat. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Big change in balance. Change in thinking clearly and with logic. Very nervous and excitable. Very bad flushing. Very bad headache. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Strong urges that are hard to control (such as gambling or sex). Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
