This medication is a haematopoietic agent, prescribed for anemia in people with chronic kidney failure. It helps in the formation of red blood cells by the bone marrow.
Erythropoietin regulates erythropoiesis by stimulating the differentiation and proliferation of erythroid precursors, stimulating the release of reticulocytes into the circulation, and synthesis of cellular haemoglobin.
Adults: Subcutaneous- 3-timesweek dosing: 150 unitskg 3 timesweek. Children: IV- Weekly dosing: 600 unitskgweek (max, 40,000 unitsweek). How it should be taken : It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider under the skin or into the vein.
Hypertension, myalgia, arthralgia, flu like syndrome, rashes and urticaria. Hypertensive crisis with encephalopathy-like symptoms e.g. headache, confusion, generalised seizures. Thrombosis. Arrhythmia, cardiac arrest, conjustive heart failure and precipitation of myocardial infarction.

If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

Avoid Alcohol
Store it in refrigerator (2-8°C). Do not freeze.
Category C : Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
