      Stiloz 50MG tablet belongs to a group of medicines called platelet-aggregation inhibitors. It is used to treat symptoms of intermittent claudication, a condition characterised by numbness, sense of fatigue and cramping pain in the lower legs upon walking or exercise and is caused by insufficient blood supply in your legs. This tablet helps in increasing the distance you walk without pain since it prevents the formation of clots and improves the blood circulation in legs. The medicine is recommended only for patients whose symptoms have not improved sufficiently after making life-style modifications such as stopping smoking and increasing exercise. However, the uses mentioned are not exhaustive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      How to Use

      Take Stiloz 50MG tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to your health.
      This tablet should be taken on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after meals. The tablet is usually taken twice a day. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.
      Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine before completion of the course or without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this drug until completion of the maximum amount suggested.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking more than the recommended dosage. In case of accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage of Stiloz 50MG tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

      Kidney:

      Caution is advised among patients with renal problems. Dose adjustments may be needed. Potassium and creatinine levels should be monitored. If you have any kidney disease, it is recommended to you consult your doctor before the consumption of this medicine.

      Liver:

      Extreme caution is advised among patients with liver problems. Dose adjustments of the tablet may be needed on the basis of clinical condition of the patient. we recommend you to consult your doctor before the consumption of this medicine. However, this medicine is not recommended in patients with severe hepatic impairment.

      Pregnancy:

      Stiloz 50MG tablet should be used with caution during pregnancy. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in human beings, animal studies have shown effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

      Lactation:

      The medicine is likely unsafe to use for nursing mothers. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass into the breastmilk and harm the infant. Consult your doctor immediately if the baby shows signs of increased sleepiness, breathing problems or difficulty in breast feeding.

      Alcohol:

      Interaction of alcohol with Stiloz 50MG tablet is unknown. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the medicine should be reported to your doctor immediately.

      Driving:

      The tablet does not cause drowsiness or dizziness. If you notice any abnormal reactions after taking the medicine, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

      Food:

      Vitamin K rich foods (leafy vegetables) should be avoided.

Alert your doctor if you are taking Stiloz 50MG tablet with erythromycin, ketoconazole, diltiazem, omeprazole, fluconazole, lovastatin, atorvastatin, cisapride, pimozide, ergot alkaloids, streptokinase, antivirals (sofosbuvir, boceprevir), heparin, aspirin, clopidogrel, cotrimoxazole, ciprofloxacin, amlodipine, alprazolam, prednisone.

      What is Cilostazol for:

      This medication is a phosphodiesterase type 3 inhibitor, prescribed for intermittent claudication. It works by improving blood flow to the legs.

      How does Cilostazol work:

      How should Cilostazol be used:

      Adult- PO- The recommended dose is 100 mg twice a day taken at least half an hour before or two hours after breakfast and dinner. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with food.

      Common side effects of Cilostazol :

      Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Headache. Loose stools (diarrhea).

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

      What precautions should I take when taking Cilostazol :

      Alert your doctor immediately if you have heart failure. Cilostazol is not suitable for people with heart failure. - Let your doctor know if you have other types of heart disease. - Do not take Cilostazol if you are pregnant. - Do not breastfeed while you are being treated with Cilostazol.

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Signs of infection. These include a fever of 100.5°F (38°C) or higher, chills, very bad sore throat, ear or sinus pain, cough, more sputum or change in color of sputum, pain with passing urine, mouth sores, wound that will not heal, or anal itching or pain. A fast heartbeat. Very bad headache. Very loose stools (diarrhea). Very bad swelling or pain of hands or feet. Any bruising or bleeding. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

      Can I take Cilostazol with other medicines:

      Inform your doctor if you are taking any of these medicines: - other blood-thinning medicines such as aspirin, warfarin, clopidogrel, ticlopidine - antibiotics such as erythromycin, clarithromycin. - antifungal medicines such as itraconazole, ketoconazole. - diltiazem (a blood pressure medicine). - lovastatin (a cholesterol medicine). - omeprazole, lansoprazole, cimetidine (gastric medicines). - Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
