Susten Capsule 400mg is used in the treatment/adjustment of progesterone component of menopausal hormonal replacement therapy, amenorrhea, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, recurrent miscarriage with progesterone deficiency, contraception, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and premenstrual syndrome. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.
The active ingredient of Susten Capsule 400mg is progesterone 400mg.
Progesterone is a female sex hormone produced in the ovaries, placenta, and adrenal glands. It plays a key role in sexual desire, where also helps in preparing your body during conception, pregnancy, and regulates the menstrual cycle.

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor.
Swallow Susten Capsule 400mg whole immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break/chew/cut it instead.
Avoid missing/forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Don’t consume two doses at the same time which may be dangerous to your health.
Susten Capsule 400mg should be taken on an empty stomach. Take it at least 1 hour before food or 2 hours after food.
Take the medication as prescribed by your doctor at the prescribed time and dosage.
Avoid using more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, look for any new symptoms. If you observe any, promptly seek medical advice or report it to the nearby poison control center.
Take the Susten Capsule 400mg only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:

Do not take the medication with grapefruit juice because it may result in unwanted adverse effects.

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses
If you have an allergy to progesterone or any other part of this drug. If you have a peanut allergy and are taking the capsules. The capsules have peanut oil in them. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have any of these health problems: Bleeding into the brain, blood clots, breast cancer, heart attack, liver disease, stroke, or vaginal bleeding.
If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Signs of low mood (depression), thoughts of killing yourself, nervousness, emotional ups and downs, thinking that is not normal, anxiety, or lack of interest in life. Chest pain or pressure. Trouble breathing. Swelling, warmth, or pain in the leg or arm. Change in thinking clearly and with logic. Sudden change in eyesight, eye pain, or irritation. Any rash. For women, period changes. These include lots of bleeding, spotting, or bleeding between cycles. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
Avoid Alcohol
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. - Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
