Tazloc 40MG Tablet is used to treat hypertension (elevation of blood pressure caused by genetic or environmental factors), prevents angina (heart related chest pain) and other heart complications. The medicine works by slowing down the activity of your heart allowing it to beat slower and less forcefully and also relaxes the blood vessels and improves blood flow and oxygen in the body, thereby reducing the risk of getting chest pain. This medicine is used with a proper healthy diet and exercise program to control high blood pressure for best possible effects. However, the uses mentioned are not exhaustive, there may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

How to Use

How to Use

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your health care professional. Avoid missing or forgetting the dose, if you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as u remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only the usual dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.
Tazloc 40MG tablet can be taken with or without food. If significant stomach upset occurs, it could be taken with food. The tablet is usually taken not more than once a day. Take the tablet at the same time every day as it helps to maintain consistent level of medicine in the body.

Overdosage

Avoid taking more than the recommended dosage. In case of accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage of Tazloc 40MG Tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Bradycardia
  • Dizziness
  • Hypotension
  • Elevated serum creatinine
  • Acute renal failure
  • Tachycardia

Take Tazloc 40MG tablet only on the advice of medical practitioner. Dosage adjustments or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:

Kidney:

Caution is advised among patients with renal problems. Dose adjustments may be needed. Potassium and creatinine levels should be monitored. If you have any kidney disease, it is recommended to you consult your doctor before the consumption of this medicine.

Liver:

Extreme caution is advised among patients with liver problems. Dose adjustments of the Tazloc 40MG tablet may be needed on the basis of clinical condition of the patient. we recommend you to consult your doctor before the consumption of this medicine. However, this medicine is not recommended in patients with severe hepatic impairment.

Pregnancy:

Tazloc 40Mg tablet might be risky to use during pregnancy. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in human beings, animal studies have shown adverse effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consuming this medicine.

Lactation:

The medicine is likely unsafe to use for nursing mothers. Limited human data suggests that the medication may pass into the breastmilk and harm the infant. Consult your doctor immediately if the baby shows signs of increased sleepiness, breathing problems or difficulty in breast feeding.

Alcohol:

Consumption of alcohol with Tazloc tablet is not recommended as it increases side effects such as difficulty in hypotension, concentration, dizziness, light headedness. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the medicine should be reported to your doctor immediately.

Driving:

Tazloc 40Mg tablet may decrease alertness, cause impaired judgement, affect your vision and make you feel dizzy, light headedness, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

Food:

Avoid grape fruit juice as it may alter serum levels.

Drug Interactions:

Alert your doctor if you are taking Tazloc 40Mg tablet with any of the below medicines:
Diuretics: furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide
K-containing sat substitutes: ACE inhibitors, heparin
Immunosuppressants: ciclosporin, tacrolimus
Hyperkalaemia with K-sparing diuretics: Eplerenone, Spironolactone, triamterene, amiloride
NSAIDs: selective COX-2 inhibitors

How does Telmisartan work:

Telmisartan lowers blood pressure by lowering a strong chemical in the body.

How should Telmisartan be used:

It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food. Hypertension- Adults- Oral: Initial: 40 mg once daily. Max: 80 mgday. Cardio Vascular risk reduction- Adults- Oral: 80 mg once per day.

Common side effects of Telmisartan :

Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Cough. Belly pain. High potassium level. Signs include feeling weak, lightheaded, dizzy, feel like passing out, or have numbness or tingling. Kidney function that gets worse.

What do I do if I miss a dose

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

What precautions should I take when taking Telmisartan :

If you have an allergy to telmisartan or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have high blood sugar (diabetes) and are taking aliskiren. If you are pregnant or may be pregnant. If you are breast-feeding.

When do I need to seek medical help

If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Very bad headache. Signs of high potassium. Cough that does not go away. Too much sweat, fluid loss, throwing up, or loose stools. May lead to low blood pressure. For women, if you get pregnant while taking this drug. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
