How to Use

How to Use

Telvas H 40mg Tab can be taken with food or on an empty stomach. The dose and duration should be followed as prescribed by your doctor. It is best to take this medicine at a fixed time. It is important that this medicine should not be taken more than the recommended dose.
Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening the tablet from the strip. Do not try to break/crush/chew the tablet.
Avoid missing or forgetting a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take it at the next scheduled time. Do not take two doses of this medicine at the same time as it can be dangerous to your health.
This medicine contains a diuretic (water pill) and will make you urinate more, so it is advised to avoid take this medicine at least four hours before going to bed. Bear in mind that it takes a few weeks for it to work so you need to take it regularly even if you feel it is not doing you any good. You must keep taking the medicine until your doctor advises you to stop.
It should be taken only by the person for whom it has been recommended by a qualified physician.

Overdosage

How should Hydrochlorothiazide be used:

It comes as a tablet and liquid to take by mouth, with food. dult- HTN- The recommended dose is 12.5 to 50 mg once daily. Edema- The recommended dose is 25-100 mg once daily or in divided doses.

Common side effects of Hydrochlorothiazide :

Low potassium levels. Signs include feeling tired, weak, numbness, or tingling; muscle cramps; hard stools (constipation); throwing up; or a fast heartbeat. Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Upset stomach or throwing up. What do I do if I miss a dose

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Signs of low potassium. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Not able to pass urine. Sudden change in eyesight, eye pain, or irritation. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
