Para-aminobenzoic acid or PABA is taken orally for various skin disorders like vitiligo, dermatomyositis, pemphigus, morphea, lymphoblastoma cutis, Peyronie’s disease, and scleroderma. PABA is also commonly used for the treatment of infertility among women, arthritis, anemia, rheumatic fever, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), constipation and headaches.
