Thrombophob Gel 20gm is used to treat various conditions such as blood clots, improves blood flow, prevents postoperative deep venous thrombosis, bed sores, sprains, burns, external hemorrhoids, and many more. The active ingredients of Thrombophob Gel 20gm are Benzyl Nicotinate 2gm and Heparin Sodium 50 IU.
Benzyl Nicotinate helps in the dilation of the capillaries and increases blood circulation thus promoting the relaxation of vascular smooth muscle.
Heparin Sodium works by disabling the thrombin in the formation of blood clots by this, heparin reduces the blood clots formed in the blood vessels.

Wash your hands as well as the affected area well, before the application. Wipe dry.
Apply a thin layer of Thrombophob Gel topically on the affected area – do not rub it harshly.
Contact with the eyes may cause irritation or burning sensation. Hence, to avoid this, wash your hands well, post-application as well.
Dosage: As recommended by your doctor or follow the directions given on the gel.
Avoid giving more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, look for any new symptoms. If you observe any, promptly seek medical advice or report it to the nearby poison control center.

It is also used for prevention of blood clot in heart surgery. It decreases the clotting ability of the blood.
It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein. Adult: IV- Loading dose: 5,000 u, then 1,000-2,000 uhr.

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.
If you have an allergy to heparin or any other part of this drug. If you are allergic to pork products, talk with the doctor. If you have a sulfite allergy, talk with your doctor. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have any of these health problems: Bleeding problems or low platelet count.
If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Very bad dizziness or passing out. A fall or crash when you hit your head. Talk with your doctor even if you feel fine. Swelling, warmth, or pain in the leg or arm. Change in thinking clearly and with logic. Very bad headache. Any bruising or bleeding. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
