      Tide Plus 10Mg tablet, a diuretic or water pill, is a combination of two medicines used to control high blood pressure and oedema. The tablet prevents your body from absorbing too much salt and allows it to be removed through urine and prevents swelling and oedema in the body. It helps to maintain the level of potassium in the body. The medicine is also used in treating congestive heart failure characterised by the decrease in the blood flow to the body parts. However, the uses mentioned are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which the medication may be used upon your doctor’s discretion.

      Tide Plus tablet contains diuretic that is derived from sulfamoyl anthranilic acid, primarily inhibits sodium and chloride reabsorption in urine and eliminates excess salt and water by increasing the amount of urine production. It also decreases the strains on blood vessels and heart, thereby decreasing high blood pressure and reduces the risk of heart attacks, stroke and kidney problems.

      Take Tide Plus 10Mg tablet as instructed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, immediately after opening it from the strip. Do not break or crush or chew the tablet.
      Do not use the medicine for durations shorter or longer than the suggested by your doctor. Continue to use this medicine until completion of the maximum amount suggested even though the symptoms disappear after the medicine has begun.
      Avoid missing or forgetting the dose, if you do, take the tablet as soon as you remember, but if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the previous dose and take it according to your normal scheduled. Do not swallow two doses at the same time which is dangerous to health.
      This tablet should be taken with food. Take the tablet at the same time as it helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body.

      Overdosage

      Avoid taking more than the recommended dosage. In case of accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage of Tide Plus 10Mg tablet, symptoms vary in individuals, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

      • Profound diuresis resulting in dehydration
      • Blood volume reduction
      • Somnolence
      • Muscle weakness, Flaccid paralysis
      • Confusion

      • Administer fluid and electrolyte replacement as required for extensive fluid loss. For hyperkalaemia, may decrease potassium intake, administer potassium excreting diuretics.

      Kidney:

      Extreme caution is advised among patients with known history of kidney diseases due to increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition. Dose adjustments of the tablet may be needed. Regular monitoring of kidney function tests is recommended while taking this tablet. If you have any, it is highly recommended that you consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

      Liver:

      Caution is advised among people with liver problems. Close monitoring of liver function and adjustments of dose of the medicine may be needed based on the clinical condition of the patient. If you have any liver problems, it is highly recommended that you consult doctor before the taking this tablet.

      Pregnancy:

      Use of Tide Plus 10Mg tablet should be used with caution during pregnancy. Despite the fact that there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown effects on the developing baby. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before consumption of this medicine.

      Lactation:

      This medicine is considered safe to use in nursing mothers unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Since the effect of the medicine on infants is not clearly established, we recommend that you to consult your doctor before consuming the tablet.

      Alcohol:

      Consumption of alcohol with Tide Plus 10Mg tablet is not recommended as it increases side effects such as difficulty in concentration, dizziness, light headedness. Any symptoms of abnormal reactions after taking the medicine should be reported to your doctor immediately.

      Driving:

      The tablet may decrease alertness, cause impaired judgement, affect your vision and make you feel dizzy, light headedness, do not drive, operate heavy machinery or involve in any works which may demand your attention or physical strength.

      Drug Interactions:

      Always inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines which includes over-the-counter drugs, herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. Alert your doctor if you are taking Tide Plus 10Mg tablet with dexamethasone, Na phosphate, hypokalaemia with K-spring diuretics, asprin, lithium, indomethacin, mefenamic acid, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, amphotericin B, aminoglycoside antibiotics, toxicity with digoxin, NSAIDs, metformin.

      What is Spironolactone for:

      This medication is a potassium-sparing diuretic, prescribed for hyperaldosteronism, low potassium levels, and for edema (fluid retention) caused by various conditions. It works by blocking the hormone aldosterone.

      How does Spironolactone work:

      Spironolactone stops potassium loss. It lowers secretion from skin glands.

      How should Spironolactone be used:

      It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with food. The recommended dose range is 50 to 400mgday for 3 to 4 weeks.

      Common side effects of Spironolactone :

      High potassium level. Signs include feeling weak, lightheaded, dizzy, feel like passing out, or have numbness or tingling. Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Change in sex ability. This most often goes back to normal.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

      What precautions should I take when taking Spironolactone :

      If you have an allergy to spironolactone or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have any of these health problems: High potassium levels or kidney disease.

      When do I need to seek medical help

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Very bad dizziness or passing out. Signs of high potassium. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Very loose stools (diarrhea). For women, period changes. These include lots of bleeding, spotting, or bleeding between cycles. • For men, enlarged breasts. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

      Can I take Spironolactone with other medicines:

      Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
