      Uses and Benefits

      Triluma Cream 15gm is used to treat corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, hyperpigmented skin conditions, allergies, rash, itching, and redness. Also, this improves the skin color, smoothens the skin, soothing the irritated skin, and also relieves from acne. However, the uses mentioned here are not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.

      The active ingredients of Triluma Cream 15gm are Fluocinolone Acetonide 0.01% w/w, Hydroquinone 4% w/w, and Tretinoin 0.05% w/w.

      Mechanism of Action of Drugs

      Fluocinolone Acetonide possesses anti-inflammatory, anti suppressant actions. Therefore, this drug helps in reducing the chemicals that cause allergic reactions such as inflammation, skin itching, eczema, seborrhea, and psoriasis.

      Hydroquinone helps to reduce the pigmentation by decreasing the production of melanin (a pigment in the skin which is responsible for brown/dark complexion) in the skin.

      Tretinoin helps to reduce wrinkles and hyelps to remove dead cells on the skin.

      The following side effects may or may not occur during the usage of this Triluma Cream 15gm. It is generally well tolerated when used in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

      • Erythema
      • Desquamation
      • Burning
      • Dryness
      • Pruritus
      • Acne
      • Paresthesia/hyperesthesia
      • Telangiectasia
      • Skin pigmentation changes
      • Irritation
      • Photosensitivity

      Rare but more serious adverse effects may include:

      • Hypersensitivity reaction
      • Anaphylaxis
      • Cutaneous sensitization
      • Ochronosis, exogenous
      • Cushing syndrome (prolonged use)

      How to Use

      How to Use

      Wash your hands as well as the affected area well, before the application. Wipe dry.
      Apply a thin layer of Triluma Cream 15gm topically on the affected area – do not rub it harshly.
      Contact with the eyes may cause irritation or burning sensation. Hence, to avoid this, wash your hands well, post-application as well.
      Dosage: As recommended by your doctor or follow the directions given on the cream.

      Overdosage

      Avoid using more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, if you observe any new symptoms promptly seek medical advice or report it to the nearby poison control center.

      Use the Triluma Cream 15gm only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:

      Pregnancy:

      Avoid use in the 1st trimester of pregnancy. However, do not use the medicine without the advice of your doctor.

      Lactation:

      Fluocinolone /Hydroquinone: Caution advised while breastfeeding. Therefore, inform your doctor if you are a nursing mother during the treatment.

      Tretinoin: May be used during breastfeeding; risk of infant harm is low, evidence-based on minimal maternal systemic absorption. Therefore, use the medicine only on the advice of the medical practitioner.

      Precautions
      • Keep the Triluma Cream 15gm out of sight and reach of children.
      • Store at room temperature away from heat and moisture.
      • Do not use the medicine beyond its expiry.
      • Do not use if the seal is broken before its use.
      • Recap the cream after its use.
      • Strictly for topical application.

      This medication is a topical corticosteroid, prescribed for eczema. It blocks the release of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation.

      How does Fluocinolone Acetonide work:

      Fluocinolone stops or lowers irritation and swelling

      How should Fluocinolone Acetonide be used:

      Adult: Topical- As 0.0025-0.025% creamgellotionointscalp lotion: Apply 3-4 timesday. It comes as a cream, ointment, and shampoo to apply topically as directed by your physician.

      Common side effects of Fluocinolone Acetonide :

      Skin irritation.

      What do I do if I miss a dose

      Put on a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not put on 2 doses or extra doses.

      What precautions should I take when taking Fluocinolone Acetonide :

      If you have an allergy to fluocinolone or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.

      When do I need to seek medical help

      If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Very bad skin irritation. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

      Can I take Fluocinolone Acetonide with other medicines:

      Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. - Taking them together can cause bad side effects. - Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
