Uses and Benefits

Vizylac Rich Capsule is used to make the gut flora normal. It is used to treat diarrhea caused due to the consumption of antibiotics. Vizylac Rich Capsule also treats Vitamin B deficiency. However, the uses mentioned here not exhaustive. There may be other conditions for which this medication may be used upon a doctor’s discretion.

Composition

The active ingredients of Vizylac Rich Capsule are Bacillus Mesentericus 1 million spores, Clostridium Butyricum 2 million spores, Lactobacillus Sporogenes 50 million spores, Saccharomyces Boulardii 50 million spores and Streptococcus Thermophilus 30 million spores.

Mechanism of Action of Drugs

Bacillus Mesentericus is a spore forming bacteria, responsible for production of nutrients.
Clostridium Butyricum is a gram positive bacteria which produces butyric acid – helping to limit lipid deposition in the liver.
Lactobacillus Sporogenes is a friendly bacteria that normally stays in our digestive, genital and urinary system without causing any harm to our body. It helps to prevent types of diarrheas such as rotaviral diarrhea in children and traveler’s diarrhea.

Saccharomyces Boulardii is a friendly bacteria which helps to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria in the stomach and intestine.
Streptococcus Thermophilus is a probiotic which allevates GI symptoms.

Contraindications and Caution

Patients with the following conditions are suggested to seek advice from their health care professional before taking the Vizylac Rich Capsule:

• Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients used in the Vizylac Rich Capsule such as Bacillus Mesentericus, Clostridium Butyricum, Lactobacillus Sporogenes, Saccharomyces Boulardii and Streptococcus Thermophilus.

Side and Adverse Effects

The following side effects may or may not occur due to the consumption of this capsule. It is generally well tolerated when taken in the prescribed dosage guidelines. More common ones are generally mild and may include:

• Abdominal detention
• Nausea
• Bloating
• Skin rashes
• Loss of appetite
• Headache
• Altered sleep patterns
• Irritability

How to Use

Do not exceed the dosage prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the Vizylac Rich Capsule whole, immediately after opening the capsule from the strip. Do not break/cut/chew the capsule.

Avoid missing a dose. If you do, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip it and take it according to your normal schedule. Do not swallow two doses at the same time in order to compensate for the missed dose – this may prove dangerous to your healh.

Take one Vizylac Rich Capsule every day (or as recommended by your doctor – priority).
Take the Vizylac Rich Capsule preferably after a meal.

Warnings and Precautions

Take the Vizylac Rich Capsule only on the advice of a medical practitioner. Dosage adjustment or complete avoidance of the medication may be required in the following conditions:

Alcohol:

Do not consume alcohol while taking this capsule because interaction with alcohol is unknown.

Drug Interactions:

Caution always adviced when used with other medicines especially inform your doctor, if you are on antibiotics, Biotin, Barbiturates, Chlorpromazine, Carbamazepine, Atropine, Ciprofloxacin etc, during the treatment.
